The first new Velodrome 2000 practise with all of us there. It was so much fun – I’d forgotten how much I love playing in this band! Remembering the songs was easy – it was like falling off a bike!
The Wendy Darlings at the Chameleon
The Wendy Darlings were amazing at the Chameleon last night too. Here’s a picture of Markie acting as an improvised music stand during their rather marvellous version of the Primitives’ Really Stupid.
My legs hurt now from dancing too much to Horowitz and The Wendy Darlings but it was worth it!
Horowitz rock!
Pete rocked so much he crashed my camera and I could only get a photo of him in the quiet song!
The Trianglegrams (which is The Parallelograms without Meriel as she is currently on maternity leave) are playing at The Chameleon in Nottingham tomorrow evening (15th April) with the wonderful Wendy Darlings and marvellous Horowitz. It’s an early evening show (5.30pm to 9pm).
We’ll be doing a few Parallelograms songs and then a bunch of covers of old indiepop songs. We’re a bit nervous about playing because we’ve not practised anywhere near enough but you should come down anyway because the other two bands will be amazing!
Waiting for the Popguns
I’ve just found out that The Popguns are playing in Brighton tonight! I want to go so much! I wish I’d found out sooner…
Yeah, yeah! We’re back again, back again!
Yay! Velodrome 2000 have reformed and we’re playing indietracks!
New organ
Melody Dog!
Best walk to work ever this morning: listening to Futuristic Lover by Melody Dog on repeat, trying to work out the bass line. It made me realise that I’d been under-appreciating it. I mean it already was my Favourite Song Of All Time, I just didn’t realise just quite how wonderful it is.
Candy Twist
My copy of Candy Twist issue 1 has arrived. It’s lovely having a proper paper and ink #fanzine like in the olden days.
